One of the most beautiful roads in the world is the one from here to Flinders past cape Schanck! You’ll curve and wind your way through green fields with blue horizons, pass the tomato van that works on an honesty system, the blow hole where surfers hang and the spindly long lone Christmas tree right in the middle of an open paddock for all the world to see. When you get to the little township of Flinders you will be delighted by the chocolate shop. Pick a few of Isilda’s master pieces for a midnight feast. Explore what other delights there are in the little village.
As you leave take a left up towards Red Hill. Lose yourselves in the Ashcombe maze and gardens tantalize your taste buds at Montalto’s cellar door. Lunch in there award winning restaurant, the food is very very good. Before you leave explore their wonderful restaurant veggie and herb garden and the sculptures dotted around the property. Shands road leads you half way back to your hideaway and makes believe that you are in the middle of the Australian bush, you might even see a koala! You could stop in at the strawberry farm to top up the midnight feast rations or just for the smell of fresh strawberries.
